Mynt authorised as E-money institution – gearing up for European expansion
June 6, 2021
Mynt, the Stockholm-based fintech offering smart corporate credit cards and spend management, has been authorised as an E-money Institution by the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority (SFSA, Finansinspektionen).

Stockholm based fintech Mynt is ready for European expansion after being authorised as E-money Institution by the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority (SFSA).
This is an exciting step for our company. We are looking forward to reaching out to companies across Europe with our smart corporate card solution, says Baltsar Sahlin,Co-founder and CEO of Mynt.

The E-Money license will enable Mynt to further strengthen its product offering and expand into new markets. With the license Mynt will be able to issue its corporate credit card in markets across the European Union under passporting rights. Furthermore, Mynt will be able to act as a Payment Institution (PI), providing comprehensive services for its business customers, such as payments processing, client holding accounts, and issuing E-money. With Open Banking, many banking services are now becoming more accessible for third parties, and Mynt intends to leverage these for its customers. The E-money license is only the fifth such license that has been awarded in Sweden following earlier authorizations such as iZettle.

“The license is a testament to our team, product and our processes. I am proud of what our team has achieved and how the process itself has helped Mynt grow. I am excited about the international expansion and the opportunities this license will bring.” says Baltsar Sahlin, Co-founder and CEO of Mynt.
